It’s a New Era for CityPoint Community Church
CityPoint Community Church is a young, innovative church located on the south side of Chicago. Planted in August 2008 with just eight people, the core group of CityPoint united by prayer for the renewal of their community. Demetrius Davis has faithfully led the church since its inception.
Inspired by the heart of the original church in the Book of Acts, CityPoint’s primary focus was on community and commitment to learning and living the principles of the Bible. In 2018, the church renovated an event facility in the Bronzeville community. Until recently, the community was filled with dilapidated structures, but a new wave of growth led to a large influx of new residents. CityPoint was strategically positioned to reach the growing neighborhood, but their rental space was insufficient and stunted their progress.
In early 2023, they located a historic building in the community that would be ideal for the church. Seeking the ideal lending partner, Demetrius encountered CDF staffers at the Exponential Conference in Orlando in the Spring of 2023. Within months, the church was approved for a loan and completed the purchase of the building in the Summer of 2023.
In this new era for CityPoint, Demetrius expressed his thanks to the investors of CDF Capital for believing in their ministry. He observed, “We wanted to thank everyone involved with CDF Capital for all their help with the purchase of our new church home. Our congregation is super excited about this next chapter, which we're sure will be amazing and for the glory of God!”
