Celebrating Revival

May 14, 2026 | News

In August 1801, an event in central Kentucky impacted the landscape of the global church. The Cane Ridge Revival saw thousands of people gather to hear gospel preaching and worship together from morning until evening. This spiritual stirring launched the Restoration Movement, as those impacted sought the restoration of New Testament Christianity.

Over the centuries, the Restoration Movement and its ideals of biblical authority, church autonomy, and Christian unity propelled the planting of churches, the sending of ministries, and the creation of hundreds of organizations dedicated to the spread of the gospel.

CDF Capital traces its origins to this movement, and we are excited to celebrate the 225th anniversary of Cane Ridge with our partners throughout the world. To commemorate the event, we have curated resources (including videos, sermon content, and postcards) for Christian churches to use during the month of August. Our goal is for church leaders across the country to share this important historical event with their congregations.

If you or your church might be interested in commemorating the anniversary, please contact Kevin Bates at kbates@cdfcapital.org.
