Bend, But Do Not Break

In April 2026, the CDF Capital board of directors met in Southern California and joined CDF staff for our monthly chapel service. Chairman of the board, Ken Thompson, shared a devotional thought with the CDF team that encouraged us. In the video below, Ken reflects on the resilient nature of palm trees in light of a verse from the book of Psalms.

Ken grew up in Missouri and has been married for forty years to his wife, Pat. They have four kids, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and an honorary professional degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Professionally, Ken worked in various executive positions in the oil industry. Due to the transient nature of working in the oil industry, the Thompsons frequently moved across the country. Yet wherever they relocated, they always connected with the local church.

Ken currently serves on several corporate boards, including Alaska Airlines, Pioneer Natural Resources, and Coeur Mining. Ken has also taught leadership seminars in churches and served several terms on the board of Dallas Christian College.

We at CDF are grateful for directors like Ken who provide financial, strategic, and spiritual guidance to our ministry.
