Paying it Forward

Giving can be inspirational.  Several years ago there was a book written and a movie made that introduced and illustrated a concept of giving called paying it forward.  When people give, whether financially or through an act of generosity, those who receive and even those who observe the gift are often inspired to do the same, creating a ripple effect.

A joint study done by researchers at Harvard University and University of California, San Diego, has confirmed that those who witness a gift of generosity are often inspired to adopt a more giving lifestyle. A single act of charity can affect future generations of potential donors.

All of this is by God’s design. When we develop a lifestyle of giving, we change our focus from what we can collect, to what we can distribute, to how can we help. We shift from pursuing our own designs to appreciating the way we were designed.  We allow ourselves to trust God and share the gifts He has given us.
