“All the believers lived in wonderful harmony.…They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met.” —Acts 2:44-45, MSG
I’m writing to ask for your help to raise $7,000 on behalf of Eric and Annette Keffer. Though you may have never met Eric and Annette, you know people like them—people who fill days, months, and years of their lives serving others, pushing aside their own needs in the meantime. This minister and his wife are in need of serious dental and medical surgery because they sacrificed their own well-being in order to serve on the mission field and with declining churches.
Now it’s time for us, their Christian brothers and sisters, to pool our resources, as the first century Christians did, so that Eric and Annette’s needs can be met.
Eric and Annette both grew up in Christian families and were actively involved in their local church. Going into vocational ministry was not in their plans—however, God had other ideas. Both Eric and Annette were gifted with compassionate hearts and practical skills that ideally suited them for ministry on the mission field and with small struggling churches in the U.S.
So in 2008 they were ordained by their home church and resigned from their restaurant business. In doing so they gave up a good income, retirement savings plan, and medical and dental insurance in order to serve Christ’s Kingdom:
- First a six-year ministry with a church in Bridgeport, IL
- Now a five-year ministry with a church in Walton Hills, OH
- At the same time serving with the mission Christ To Nations
- And providing disaster-relief and field chaplain services to people whose lives and property had been destroyed by hurricanes, tornados, floods, and other natural disasters
Unfortunately, as is so often the case, these small churches and mission groups were not able to pay adequate salaries or provide employee benefits, so Eric and Annette faithfully served others while their own health suffered.
Today, both Eric and Annette need immediate dental intervention. Eric must have both dental and periodontal treatment. Annette’s situation was so urgent that she had surgery a few weeks ago in order to prevent infection from invading her sinus cavities and then spreading throughout her body.
Eric & Annette Keffer
The Keffers need financial help, and I’m asking you to give to KBF so we can bless these faithful Kingdom workers!
As soon as I heard the Keffers’ story, I shared it with a ministry friend. He immediately wrote a check to KBF for $5,000. I also contacted the elders of the small church where the Keffers serve; even though they have no money to spare, they have committed to raise at least $2,000.
Therefore, I’m asking for your help to raise another $7,000, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar. If successfully raised, this will result in a total of $14,000 being available for payment and reimbursement of dental, periodontal, surgical, and other medical expenses related to Eric and Annette’s treatment.
What an opportunity! If we can just raise $7,000, we can double your gift and give a $14,000 blessing to Eric and Annette, who have been faithful Kingdom workers as both ministers and missionaries!
Will you please share from the blessings God has given to you, and make a generous gift today?
