Irvine, CA – October 2016 – CDF Capital announced the addition of a new Vice President to its Ministry Development Team. Dirk Scates has been appointed to the role of Vice President of Ministry Development for Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri where he will help serve the local church and further CDF Capital’s mission statement of “Helping Churches Grow.” Dirk will report to Executive Vice President of Lending and Investments, Lou Myers.

“We are blessed to have found Dirk at the time he desired to return to ministry. With his extensive ministerial experience as well as the work he’s been doing the last couple of years, he is the perfect choice for CDF Capital as we continue to pursue our mission of helping churches grow.” said Lou Myers, EVP Lending and Investments. He added, “Our calling to serve the church and its leaders with a wide variety of offerings is best delivered by a team of Ministry Development representatives who have had direct experience with the issues that church staff encounter every day. Dirk fits that model very well and is ideally suited to advise and consult with the churches in these states.”

Dirk joins CDF Capital after a break in his three-decade ministry career. Most recently Dirk worked as an instructor for GSI Training Services where he led trainings for Fortune 500 companies including: Intel, Lexmark, Monsanto, Abbott Labs, Eli Lilly and Company, Chevron, Duke Energy Lonza Corporation, and several others.  Additionally, he was the content officer for all CBT & WBT courses, and the regulation publications for Government Services Institute (GSI).

Prior to his work at GSI, Dirk served as a Senior Pastor for over a decade at Tonganoxie Christian Church. He began his career in ministry serving over thirty years in the Christian Church, beginning in Phoenix, AZ (Northwest Christian), then in Sugar Land, TX (Providence Christian), and Tonganoxie, KS (Tonganoxie Christian) respectively. While in Tonganoxie, he served for four years on the board of directors at Nebraska Christian College.

President of CDF Capital, Dusty Rubeck states, “Dirk is the right choice for I-35 Corridor. He has a long history and great reputation in ministry adding to our relationships with the churches we serve.  We are very pleased to welcome him to the CDF Capital team.”

Dirk graduated from Manhattan Christian College with his B.S in Biblical Studies and completed 90 hours toward a B.S in Biology at Kansas State University. In addition, Dirk has completed graduate work from Emmanuel School of Religion in Johnson City, Tennessee, and Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, California.

He attributes his success to God, his family legacy in the Christian Church, his supportive wife, Shelley, and their three children.

Dirk states, “The truth is I’m just a ragamuffin Christian. I look forward to returning to my roots in ministry. I consider it a profound honor and my highest calling to lead and serve believers in the church and love the people who have yet to discover God is for them. I believe the Church, is the hope of world and God’s primary instrument for reconciling the world back to Himself. My passion for the past 35 years, which continues now with CDF Capital, is helping churches grow!”
